We hear you.

Some of our farms choose to feed our cows a palm supplement to boost their energy. This is a practice that is used globally and is CFIA certified, but you have questions about how it may affect your butter. The most important thing to our farmers, and farmers across Canada, is ensuring that we meet or exceed your expectations. The pride we have behind the Canadian Quality Milk logo is one that we take very seriously.

Dairy Farmers of Canada has established a working group comprised of academics, scientists, nutritionists, farmers, and processors from across Canada to unravel dairy fat complexity and alternatives. The working group has also committed to seeking the views of consumers.

Canadian dairy farmers are going to do better.

The Alberta Milk Board of Directors, which is comprised of dairy farmers, supports the national direction of Dairy Farmers of Canada by encouraging our farmers to choose alternatives to palm supplements. This is something we take seriously and we are unwavering in our dedication to continuing to produce high quality milk.
