Ingredients
1 cup | (250 ml) | 3% whole or 2% milk |
1 cup | (250 ml) | water |
2-3 tbsp | (30 - 45 ml) | sugar, to taste |
1-3 | cardamom pods | |
2 | cloves | |
1-2 inch | cinnamon stick | |
1 | black tea bag |
Directions
- Using a mortar and pestle or end of a rolling pin, mash cardamom, cloves and cinnamon into a bowl and add this mixture into a pot with water, tea bag and sugar. Bring to a boil.
- Once the pot is boiling, add the milk. Allow tea to come to a boil again and remove from the heat.
- Using a tea strainer, pour chai into 2 mugs.
