Beet Beef Burgers with Feta Spread

Ingredients

Beet Beef Burgers
1 lb (16 oz) lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) grated beets
1/4 cup (60 ml) feta cheese
2 tbsp (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp (5 ml) oregano
1 tsp (5 ml) basil
1/2 tsp (2 ml) each salt and pepper, approximately
Feta Spread
1/2 cup (125 ml) Greek yogurt
1/4 cup (60 ml) feta cheese
1 tsp (5 ml) oregano
1 tsp (5 ml) basil
1/2 tsp (2 ml) each salt and pepper, approximately

Directions

  1. Grate beets and squeeze out extra moisture
  2. Combine ground beef, grated beets, feta, Worcestershire and spices. Mix well.
  3. Form ground beef mixture into patties. Squeeze out extra moisture while forming.
  4. Grill until done (internal temperature of 71⁰C).
  5. While burgers are grilling, combine Greek yogurt, feta cheese and spices. Mix well.
