Ingredients

600g frozen french fries
1 tbsp salted butter
1 onion
1 carrot
250 ml water
170 ml milk
2 curry roux cubes
3/4 cup cheese curds
green onions, diced

Directions

  1. Cook the fries. Prepare fries according to package instructions or cook homemade fries in the oven or air fryer until golden and crispy.
  2. Prepare the curry sauce. In a small pot over low to medium heat, melt butter and sauté chopped onions until soft and fragrant. Stir in diced carrots. Add water, cover with a lid and simmer until the carrots are tender, about 10 minutes. Place Japanese curry blocks into the pot and stir until fully dissolved. Stir in milk then simmer until the sauce becomes thick and smooth.
  3. Assemble the poutine. Place hot crispy fries on a plate and top with cheese curds. Pour the hot Japanese curry over the fries and cheese curds so the cheese begins to melt.
  4. Garnish and serve. Top with chopped green onion and serve immediately. Enjoy the cheese pull!
