Ingredients

For the Pudding
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 cups 1% or 2% milk
3 tbsp cornstarch
pinch of salt
For the Salted Whipped Cream
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk 3 tbsp cornstarch with a splash of milk until smooth.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the remaining milk, maple syrup, and salt. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture.
  3. Stir continuously for 3-5 minutes, until the mixture thickens to a smooth, pudding-like consistency.
  4. Pour the pudding into serving dishes, cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface to prevent a skin from forming, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  5. Serving with salted whipped cream and shaved chocolate (optional)
