Ingredients
Vinaigrette
3 tbsp | (45 ml) | extra-virgin olive oil |
2 tbsp | (30 ml) | balsamic vinegar |
1 tbsp | (15 ml) | pure maple syrup |
1 tbsp | (15 ml) | dijon mustard |
Salad
3/4 pkg | (180 g) | Halloumi cheese, sliced |
6 cups | (180 g) | mixed greens |
1 cup | (250 ml) | quartered strawberries |
1/3 cup | (35 g) | walnut halves |
2 tbsp | (30 ml) | thinly sliced fresh basil |
Directions
- Preheat BBQ or indoor grill to medium-high. Add halloumi to grill, and cook until golden, about 1 minute per side.
- Combine vinaigrette ingredients in mason jar, cover, and shake to emulsify.
- Assemble salad. Top with warm halloumi, berries and walnuts. Serve vinaigrette on side.

- Get Joyfull Tip: For extra Canadiana, try maple-glazed walnuts! In a small frying pan, toast walnut halves on medium heat with a drizzle of pure maple syrup. Stir constantly for 5 minutes and serve warm.
