Ingredients

Sweet Pepitas

1 cup (250 ml) pepitas (roasted/salted)
1 tbsp (15 ml) melted butter
1 tbsp (15 ml) sugar
1 tsp (5 ml) cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2 ml) nutmeg

Spicy Pepitas

1 cup (250 ml) pepitas (roasted/salted)
1 tbsp (15 ml) melted butter
1 tsp (5 ml) red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp (2 ml) smoked paprika
1/4 tsp (1 ml) cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Toast in a frying pan for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and aromatic; stir frequently.
  2. Adjust spices to suit your personal preferences. Serve hot or cold.
  3. Each recipe makes 4 – 1/4 cup (60 ml) servings.
  4. If using raw pepitas, toast with butter and a little salt, then add your spices.
